If you’ve visited Sierra Foothills Mortuary recently, you may have met the newest member of our team.
Rani comes to us from the Central Valley, and she loves working with families, helping them navigate what is, for most, a very difficult time in their lives. She specializes in being an excellent listener and generally helping families to feel better when they left, than when they arrived.
Rani, you may have guessed, is a four-legged staff member, and she has earned her chops as a wonderful ‘comfort’ animal. It’s hard to be anxious while looking into her big golden eyes.
Our one-year-old rescue pup is available during business hours, to offer a listening ear, a head-to-pet, or even a game of tug of war if you’re up for it. She is still learning how to be social with newcomers, so waiting for her to come to you, while you are seated, is the best way to win her trust.
When we rescued Rani, we were looking for a family pet.
We had no idea how impactful she would be to our families when they come in to make arrangements or discuss funeral plans. We feel doubly blessed, to have this sweet-natured girl in our home and also in our patrons’ hearts.
Rani Dog would love to meet you, and so would we.
